Understanding Slovenian s.p. bookkeeping
📋 What is this app for?
MojeKnjigovodstvo helps you track all your business finances as a Slovenian s.p. (samostojni podjetnik) - sole proprietor. It organizes your records in a way that your accountant will love, and makes tax time much easier.
💰 Monthly Payments to the Government
PIZ - Pokojninsko in invalidsko zavarovanje
Pension and Disability Insurance
This is your pension contribution. As an s.p., you pay this yourself (unlike employees where the employer pays part of it). The amount depends on your declared income base. This money goes toward your future pension when you retire.
💡 Typical monthly amount: €200 - €400+ depending on your income base
ZZZS - Zavod za zdravstveno zavarovanje Slovenije
Health Insurance Contribution
This is your health insurance contribution. It gives you access to the Slovenian public healthcare system. Like PIZ, the amount depends on your declared income base.
💡 Typical monthly amount: €50 - €150+ depending on your income base
Akontacija dohodnine
Income Tax Advance Payment
This is an advance payment on your income tax. Instead of paying all your income tax at the end of the year, you pay estimated amounts monthly. At the end of the year, your actual tax is calculated - you might get a refund or owe more.
💡 Amount varies based on your estimated annual income
DDV - Davek na dodano vrednost
Value Added Tax (VAT)
If your annual revenue exceeds €50,000 (or you voluntarily register), you become a DDV zavezanec (VAT payer). You charge DDV on your invoices (usually 22% or 9.5%) and can deduct DDV from your expenses. You report and pay the difference quarterly via the DDV-O form.
💡 Standard rate: 22% | Reduced rate: 9.5% (certain goods/services)
📁 Understanding the Tabs
01 - Izhodni računi
Your invoices to clients - money coming IN. Track what you've billed and whether it's been paid.
02 - Vhodni računi
Invoices and receipts you receive - money going OUT. All your business expenses go here. This is the most important tab for reducing your tax burden!
03 - Potni nalogi
Travel orders (kilometrina) - when you use your personal car for business, you can claim €0.43/km. This is a tax-free reimbursement. Keep good records of where you went and why!
04 - Dnevnice
Per diem allowances - when you travel for business (6+ hours), you can claim a daily allowance. Rates depend on the country and duration of travel.
05 - Plačila državi
Payments to the government - track your PIZ, ZZZS, income tax advances, and DDV payments. Helps you see how much you're paying in total.
06 - Pogodbe
Contracts and notes - keep track of ongoing contracts (office rent, subcontractors, services) and their monthly costs.
